milestone for Emma

I'll make this short and sweet. Emma rolled over from tummy to back for the first time yesterday. I missed it because I was on my way to work. Bummer deal!! I cried when Vern told me. I of course tried to get her to do it tonight and no way was she going to. I think she was on the floor for close to an hour and she still wouldn't do it. I hope she'll do it for me before I have to go to work tomorrow.

I had classes at our new hospital today. We are getting every thing new. We had to learn how to work all our new equipment. I wouldn't want to be a patient there for the first week or two. SCARY!!!! The hospital is beautiful though and it's close to home which is really nice. I get an extra 1/2 hr of sleep. WOO HOO!! Have a happy Friday.

Today was a fairly uneventful day. I had class to learn how to document on the computers when we get to our new hospital. How boring! I wish I could take the first week of opening off to avoid the nightmare. If everyone is as horrible about remebering the charting system as I am we're in for trouble. Emma stayed home with daddy today, he said she was a good girl today. Of course, she's an angel. She has recently started eating cereal and some baby food. She is really enjoying it. If she keeps it up she's going to be 20 lbs by her 6 month check up.

bow shopping

Emma and I went shopping today for hair bows. Vicki is going to help me learn how to make them but I did find a few of them already made, plus some plain ones to decorate. Here's some pics of a couple bows. She always seems to get the deer in the headlight look when I bring out the camera.

I also had to go get my blood results. I got a needle stick about a week ago and now get to spend the next several months going to the occupational health office to get my blood drawn and make sure I don't get some funky disease. The good thing is that my "source patient" is clean. Thank God it wasn't from some of the druggies we get in the ER.

Erik had football practice tonight. I feel bad for all these kids who have to practice in the heat. I just get hot sitting and watching. He is starting to enjoy it. They had a scrimmage game on Friday and all the kids had a blast. I had to work, bummer.

1st blog message

Well I decided to try this blog thing because my friend Anjee has been pestering me about this :0) Vern and I went to the comedy club last night with friends. What a great time. It was the first time we've been out since before Emma was born. It was hard leaving her with a sitter for the first time, even though I leave her with Vern when I go to work. At least I didn't cry this time. Just had to share this picture since it's one of my favorites.
