Emma and Santa

We went to bass pro shops this weekend for a picture with Santa and to explore. What a cool place that is. Nothing like I expected. We had lunch there and I actually tried alligator. Interesting! Not my favorite but I could definitely eat it if I were hungry. It's the whole psychological issue of what it is.
Back to the Santa encounter....Emma wasn't sure what was up with the big guy. She got shy and was hanging on my leg. She wouldn't talk to him and only said thank you for the candy cane after she was off his lap and walking away. You can see her skepticism in the picture.

Not much is happening in our lives. Just been busy with work and going on vacation to Hawaii, oh yeah and Vegas. Colin is struggling at the boys ranch. The plan right now is to bring him home for Christmas but that could change. I miss him, but know he's better off where he's at right now. Things have certainly been more mellow around here with him gone. Although Emma's taking over his spot as the "trouble maker" LOL. She's so mean to Erik and is into EVERYTHING! Which explains why I haven't updated in almost 3 months. Hawaii was wonderful. I wish we could move there. The weather was perfect. I got a tattoo while there. It's 3 hibiscus with the colors representing the kid's birthstones. Wow that hurt! I told Garrett(my tattoo artist) that the next patient I had who was covered in tattoos and told me they were afraid of needles I was going to slap. Erik is doing well in school. He actually made honor roll this quarter which is a HUGE accomplishment for him. Sorry my thoughts are all so rambled but I'm writing as I think of things. Emma repeats everything we say. It's s awesome to hear some of the things she says and the sentences she puts together. It's amazing how much they grow in such a short time.

We got Colin to the Boy's ranch. It was not an easy time. I've talked to the house parents a couple times and they say he is adjusting well. He's fitting in with the boys in the house and they've not had any behavior issues with him. Go figure!! Why couldn't he be like that at home? Hopefully he doesn't hate me forever. He blames me for EVERYTHING. How'd I become the bad guy? I was the one who was always there for him. here's some pictures of the place and of course Emma.
