emma riding quad

Quick little video of Emma riding a quad.

quick update

Well I figured I'd better write a quick note since I start back to work this week. It's been nice to be off but am glad I'm going back. Plus I need some overtime so I can get a better paycheck, especially with our Hawaii trip coming soon.
We are in the middle of getting one of our bathrooms remodeled so things are a mess. It should have been done 2 days ago (through no fault of Vern's) but since it's not I get to paint tonight and Vern gets o try and do the floors and put in plumbing all with Emma under foot. He's not too happy about that. He'll have some help from the guy who's helping with the remodel project. So hopefully by this weekend it'll be all done. I'm tired of the boys using my bathroom. They're SLOBS!!!

Emma wanted something from the cupboard so I set her on the counter and there she is eating her "snack." She didn't want to get down after that so I know to never do that again.

I thought this was too cute of her in her heels eating her cereal and watching sesame street. Yes that is a toilet in the background

Emma continues to be a joy (albeit one who is into everything) and is such a polite little girl. Since we make her say please and thank you when she wants something she says it all the time now. She doesn't like to say please but is really good at signing it and it's so cute when the boys have something and she signs it. She assumes that if she says please then she should have it, which is not pretty when it's something she can't have. I'm going to miss her when I go back to work. I'm not sure how she's going to take it since we've spent so much time together.

Truck for Colin

I know it's a little early but we bought a truck for Colin today for when he can start driving. We got a great deal and it doesn't need too much work. I figure by the time Colin can get his permit all the little repairs can be done. Plus it gives Vern and Colin something to bond over. We all know ( I hope) how much more you appreciate something when you have to put your own time and money into it. He's pretty stoked. He's currently outside driving around the property. This gives us great bargaining power for when we have "issues" with behavior. Which anyone with teenagers can attest too.

too cute

I have a mesh trash can in our office for papers that Emma just's loves. She will come in and dump out the papers then spend a few hours climbing in and out of it, putting it on her head etc.(this is why we don't but her alot of toys, she's easily entertained and prior experience with already raising two kids) So after dinner yesterday she climbed in it with her blankie and was just sitting there. I thought it was too cute to not take a picture.

playhouse

We got Emma the cutest little playhouse yesterday. I'd seen it before Christmas but they didn't have any in stock. So when we were at Sam's club yesterday I just had to buy it. Emma has had alot of fun with it so far. She loves the little benches. It has little bar stools that go with it for the bar in the back. I just wish I was smaller so I could play too.

warm wishes and hugs

I just wanted to send warm wishes and hugs to my freezing family in Fairbanks, Alaska. I was watching the news this morning and the high for Fairbanks is -43 degrees today. I was talking to my mom on Saturday and she said one thermometer in town read -62. Apparently they are having a cold spell that hasn't been this bad since the late 80's. So for those of us in Arizona as we go about our way today and complain about the cold weather (50's) remember we are 100 degrees warmer than my family.
It really puts things in perspective.... There is always a worse situation happening to someone than the one we're in. Be thankful for everything because sometimes the worse situations bring the greatest joy!!! AKA Emma...lol
